Chromium: Googles Browser on Linux and Mac

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Yes yes yes, I KNOW!. Some of my favorite Google apps are missing badly on mac, specifically chrome and picasa. Not sure why Google does not cater these apps for the mac community, but it is plain annoying that they do so.

Now, 50% of our problems are solved with Chromium, that will not only run on mac, but on linux distros as well. Thank you WINE right?

Here it is, share the bliss:

Google Calendar CalDAV now sync with iCal

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

And I say finally :)

Not too much to ask for right? All I need is consistent emails and calendar events. SpanSync is a good solution but why pay when it is free? Don’t get me wrong here, I have signed up for MobileMe and am completely turned off by that service.

If you have a mac and you want your iPhone in sync rather than using gCal online (which is a good idea and a backup JIC), this is a viable solution indeed.

Set Up Push on Your iPhone (free)

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Pretty decent solution, even though I doubt if I’ll bother with it. The general plan at the moment is to install osx server. once that is working fine then perhaps the me service will fit.
